Durham Miners' Gala

Once again, Spennymoor and Lanchester joined forces and enjoyed another Durham Big Meeting.

Spennymoor and Lanchester once again joiend forces to turn out a great band for the 127th Durham Miners' Gala.

We kicked off the day in Spennymoor with Gresford and a march down the main street, before stopping shortly at Tudhoe and then on to the New Inn. Outside the Royal County Hotel, we played Hey Big Spender. Continuing our theme of adventure, we were also joined by the Durham Divas belly dancers - much to the audience's delight! They loved us so much, we were even featured in a video on The Northern Echo's website.

The weather Gods were kind to us for the first part of the day, but we must have played a couple of wrong notes on our way in to Durham, as the heavens opened for our exit at the end of the day. But we didn't let that get the better of us - we soldiered on and still had a great time. We hope you did too! See you next year!
