Nearly 20 young people and adults have enjoyed free individual and group masterclasses, arranged by Spennymoor Town Band and delivered by principal players from the prize-winning Reg Vardy Band.
The day culminated in an evening concert by the Reg Vardy Band in Spennymoor Town Hall, proceeds of which were donated to the Town Mayor Derek Taylor's Charity Appeal - The Gurkha Trust and the NSPCC.
At the concert, music rehearsed during the daytime workshop was showcased by the newly-named "Spennymoor Workshop All-Stars" to a well-attended crowd of proud parents, civid dignitaries and brass band supporters.
Our very own principal euphonium player, 15 year old David Richardson was featured, giving a fine performance of Blaydon Races, accompanied by the Reg Vardy Band.
Special thanks goes to the tutors and members of the Reg Vardy Band and particularly to the Spennymoor Area Action Partnership who funded the day.
