Two bands, one Cathedral and a special hymn

A special performance of Gresford at the magnificent Durham Cathedral.

We were recently approached by the organisers of the local open-air spectacular history show, Kynren, to help out with some music for a poignant scene.

A lovely evening at Durham Cathedral saw us joining forces with local friends Ferryhill Town Band, to form a 50-strong ensemble to perform and record the Miners' Hymn, Gresford, to be used in performances of the upcoming season of the show.

The hymn was composed in memory of the 266 men and boys who perished following a disaster at Gresford Colliery on 22nd September, 1934.
