Spennymoor Town Band are delighted to announce the appointment of Keith Irving to the position of principle cornet.
Coming through the ranks of the Houghton Schools Band system, Keith progressed to soprano cornet firstly with Houghton Brass, then at the age of 16 with the Northumbria Police Band,
Keith held the principal soprano cornet seat in the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain at the age of 18 before working as a musician for five years on the professional entertainment circuit. Keith is a former member of Spennymoor Town Youth Band.
After taking a lengthy sabbatical, Keith played regularly for local championship section bands such as Fishburn and Easington Colliery, before answering the call of Spennymoor Town Band.
Keith is very much looking forward to the band mounting a serious promotion charge over the coming months and years
